    Deep-engraved Waffle House STARR 'X' Wall-Mounted Bottle Opener—part of our six-piece German-cast series honoring the 100th anniversary of the original Thomas Hamilton patent, issued on April 21, 1925 and the Incorporation of Brown Manufacturing Company on June 8th, 1925.   Only 36 Waffle House openers were made, each marked with '1925–2025'. The logos reflect some of my (David Brim’s) personal experiences of  living in Decatur and running Brown Mfg. Company in Avondale Estates.

    Avondale Estates is home to the original Waffle House #1, now preserved as a museum—though it always seems to be closed. Just up the street is Waffle House #1000, where I’ve made countless memories. From Saturday mornings with our little kids, to Valentine’s Day or Anniversary dinners with my wife (sorry, honey, don't remember which), to grabbing a bite there today—it’s been part of our lives. They even know my usual: a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on raisin bread, a bowl of grits, coffee, and water. The staff is always friendly. I love my Waffle House.
