    Deep-engraved CSX STARR 'X' Wall-Mounted Bottle Opener—part of our six-piece German-cast series honoring the 100th anniversary of the original Thomas Hamilton patent, issued on April 21, 1925 and the Incorporation of Brown Manufacturing Company on June 8th, 1925.  Only 36 CSX openers were made, each marked with '1925–2025'. The logos reflect some of my (David Brim’s) personal experiences of living in Decatur and running Brown Mfg. Company in Avondale Estates.

    College Avenue, where our family has lived since 1996, has three railroad crossings within the City of Decatur. We’re at the westernmost crossing, nearer to the Atlanta city line. Trains pass by daily—so frequently that we hardly notice them anymore. Over the years, we’ve seen everything from circus trains to military convoys to coal trains and endless shipping containers.
